The idyllic island of Bermuda - with pink sand beaches and a deliciously luxurious ambience - has long been a favourite with the jet set. Its capital, Hamilton, offers fine dining, exciting shopping and plenty of opportunities for fun after dark. There are no car hires, but visitors can hop on a horse and carriage or scooter to enjoy fun rides whilst taking in the sites of the city."

Getting There
Non-stop flights connect Bermuda International Airport (www.bermudaairport.com) - which lies nine miles east of Hamilton - with New York, Washington, Toronto and several other North American cities in a few hours, as well as Gatwick in the United Kingdom. Airlines run extra flights in high season, from April to October. The island is also a popular stop for cruise lines; the main operators are Celebrity Cruises (www.celebritycruises.com), Norwegian Cruise Line (www.ncl.com) and Royal Caribbean International (www.royalcaribbean.com) who run seven-day round-trip from ports along the east coast of the US. All visitors, including those from the United States, require a passport.

Weather
Bermuda's semi tropical climate is one of its manifest attractions. Even in winter (December - March) afternoon temperatures can reach 21oC (70oF). August is usually the hottest month - up to 32oC (90oF) but hurricanes can sometimes sweep up from the Caribbean.
